Paintings 1

Pamela Sweet - Watercolorist
Ms. Sweet  works primarily as a En Plein Air artist - on location. The three framed art works on display were created in the Pembine, WI wilderness area. The ground for the paintings is a handmade paper (from a coop of woman in India) and use of watercolor and pigment for a spontaneous effect.

Lynn M. Rix: Oil Painter - Plein Air
An accomplished oil painter, primarily paints "en plein air", meaning painting on site. This form of painting requires a discipline for the artist to work with a quick brush, limited palette and to communicate a visual message in a spontaneous manner. Thus providing the audience with a quick glimpse of the subject that has been frozen in time.

Sherri Cassell - Pastel Artist
Artist Comment: I have tried many mediums but have found a home in my expression with pastels.Their tactile quality and brilliant colors make them a joy to work with.  Pastels are perfect for creating sensitive interpretations of the California landscape.

I divide my time between plein air painting and studio work.  I love the challenge of trying to express the beauty God has created in nature.

It is my intent to take the viewer out of their hectic lives, if just for a moment, to a more calm and peaceful place.
